That my alley is melted off enough to actually get my 996 out on the streets. My one biggest regret about choosing to live in the city is that the alleyways are so poorly maintained in the winter that it’s tough to take my car out. And my garage is on the alley. I haven’t had it out since early January.

About a week ago someone from my neighborhood snapped this picture of the flooding and ice mess :

Kinja'd!!!

This year has been truly awful going from winter to spring; so hopefully some years I’ll be able to drive year round if the plows can do a better job of keeping up. Apparently a record setting February followed by a big ice and snow storm in early March followed by 2 days of heavy rain will cause issues with ice and flooding.

It’s a whole host of things that leads to this(most of our sewer drains get covered with ice) ; the city doesn’t call snow emergencies soon enough or at all ; people don’t move cars when there is a snow emergency; even when the plows get out in a timely manner they don’t free up the sewer drains;  and just a horrible bout of weather.

Cars in Minnesota are so sad. I am still in shock at how cars that look fairly decent  in Oregon will look like heaps of crap here. And this year was especially bad; it was soo cold in February it was hard to get salt washed off cars with any regularity. And there has been never ending standing water now. Fun stuff.

It’s not a pretty sight at all. I can’t wait for it all to be gone.

MN here too. I chip out the high spots and the drain in front of the house . Still, no regrets moving out of the old town.

Funny you mention that state of all states... I got a bite on my applications there. I'm looking forward to owning a Dakota again after the move. The ones here in Virginia for sale are...sad...

Reminds me of me old street in Boston. Because of cars parked on the side packing the snow down there would be  a permenent 4”layer of ice blocking the gutters.

Same sh&t when the snow thaws, though ...
